Summary Of Position
- Take ownership of small and medium CDP activities from MEIC, prioritizing deliverables based on PI (Program Increment) planning and business needs.
- Continuously assess the team's technical workload and effectively assign ad-hoc requests arising from unforeseen priorities.
- Provide support to the team in creating design verification strategies as required.
- Manage and maintain the Kanban board to track and monitor all tasks undertaken by the MEIC team, ensuring transparency and progress.
- Train team members on new or evolving processes as needed to maintain high standards and adaptability.
- Attend CDP kick-off meetings to understand project scope and relay relevant information to responsible team members.
- Act on behalf of any team member during their absence by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the scope and status of all ongoing CDPs within the team.
- Demonstrate extensive technical knowledge and expertise in Design of Experiments, Measurement System Analysis, Test Method Development, Root Cause Analysis, Capability Studies, Fixture Qualification, Statistical Process Control and Risk Management.
- Well-versed in verification and validation methodologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams, to ensure seamless integration of verification and validation activities into the overall development process.
- Develop and validate HW/SW fixtures and demonstrate high-quality standards.
- Write validation protocols and reports based on requirement inputs.
- Exhibit strong technical leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of engineers involved in system verification and validation processes.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all verification and validation activities, including test plans, test results, drawings, and reports. Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members, suppliers, and test laboratories.
- Coach and review the work of junior team members.
- Tackle difficult problems and demonstrate understanding across multiple issues and specialties.
- Communicate effectively with senior internal customers and external vendors.
- Experience with solid modeling software (CREO, SolidWorks) is preferred.
- Familiarity with concepts of design input, design output, traceability, and risk analysis is preferred.
- Implement and maintain data collection or self-diagnostic test systems and scripts for environmental testing of electrical components and subsystems.
- Demonstrated experience with testing and evaluating electrical performance, failures, and determining the useful life for complex electro-mechanical and robotic systems; proficiency with test and measurement equipment, analysis methodologies, and test documentation is required.
Principal Working Relationships
- Reports to the Sr. Engineering Manager/Engineering Manager
- Accountable to Project Manager(s) for project-related responsibilities
- Frequent interaction with team members from other disciplines, particularly hardware engineers, to develop project requirements and other project artifacts such as project schedules. Possible interaction with clinicians, third-party vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors, and other users.
Knowledge, Skill, And Ability
- Experience with validation of test methods, hard and software, test fixtures, knowledge on execution of small and Medium CDP's.
- Experience writing technical reports for the medical device industry
- Solid understanding of Design Controls, Medical Device Design Verification, and GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
Experience
10 to less than 14 Years of experience or with an advanced degree with 9+ years of experience
Education
- Required: - B.E or B. Tech in Mechatronics, Mechanical Electronics or Electrical.
- Preferred: - M.E or M. Tech in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical.
