Position Summary

Lead Associate, Release Management

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Implementing and managing release processes for software applications, APIs, and various IT initiatives
• Validate release features, prepare release instructions, and coordinate resources required for release deployment
• Assist with deployment in maintenance windows and release validation in Production
• Work closely with QA Leads to establish and maintain bug triage process, determine and prioritize bugs that must be fixed for releases and work with scrum team members to ensure bug fixes are resolved in a timely manner
• Work closely with Developers, QA, and DevOps team on identifying and evaluating risks related to releases
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis for discovered bugs in order to offer improvements to the software engineering processes
• Assist relevant teams with troubleshooting of production issues and coordinate resources to address issues
• Assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure production readiness for all production system updates
• Work with Engineering teams to understand impacts of code changes and test accordingly
• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
• Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required
• Manage Environments, system users, software versions, and database objects for various teams across the organization
• Document processes that need to be completed routinely and take detailed notes of environment configuration or setup

Requirements:

• At least 6+ Years of experience.
• Experience with Build, deployment, versioning software such as Bamboo, BitBucket
• Experience working in a Cloud environment. AWS preferred.
• Experience in the financial services and securities industry preferred
• Comfortable testing software applications, APIs and database objects/SQL
• Experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Release Management for a company experiencing fast-paced growth
• Familiarity with software development tools such as GIT, GitLab, Docker, Postman, Splunk

Education:

• B.S degree required / advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Experience in Software Quality Assurance or Verification of Release Builds
• Experience with build and release processes. Experience deploying to a Cloud environment preferred
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• SQL skills to write queries and understand existing stored procedures and functions, preferred
