Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Budgeting

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates and bills of quantities for residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, cost forecasts and financial reports.
  • Conduct rate analysis for materials, labor and subcontractor works.

Tendering & Contracts

  • Assist in tender preparation, bid evaluation and cost comparison statements.
  • Support the preparation of contract documents, including BOQs, technical specifications and cost schedules.
  • Liaise with procurement and vendors for rate negotiations and price benchmarking.

Project Cost Control

  • Monitor project costs against budgets, highlight variances and suggest corrective actions.
  • Track variations, claims and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Certify contractor bills, verify site measurements and reconcile quantities.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Maintain records of cost-related data, rate databases and historical cost information.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and MIS for management review.
  • Coordinate with design, execution and procurement teams to ensure cost efficiency across project lifecycle.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and industry standards.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives through value engineering without compromising quality.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying.
  • 14+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Cost Engineer in real estate, construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tendering and cost management processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, cost estimation software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
