Position: Lead Pilot Plant Operations (AGM / DGM)

Qualification: BE Chemical

Experience: 10 - 15 years

Industry Segment: Specialty Chemical

Location: Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

Purpose:

To lead and oversee Pilot Plant operations, drive process scale-up initiatives, manage process engineering design for pilot activities, and ensure smooth technology transfer from R&D to full-scale commercial manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise pilot plant operations, ensuring equipment, utilities, instrumentation, and manpower are fully prepared for trials.
• Lead the scale-up of processes from laboratory to pilot scale and from pilot to commercial production.
• Define, refine, and optimize process parameters to enable safe, consistent, and cost-efficient performance at larger scales.
• Develop comprehensive technology transfer documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, batch records, control logic) along with cleaning protocols for changeovers.
• Diagnose and resolve scale-up challenges involving heat transfer, mixing, mass transfer, and reaction kinetics.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation of all trials, deviations, and technical observations.
• Collaborate with external vendors and equipment suppliers for technology assessments and potential upgrades.
• Build and strengthen Pilot Plant team capabilities while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
