Job Description

Role Overview

Provide technical leadership in new product design and development for die-cast components, ensuring alignment with business and customer requirements.
Guide and mentor the R&D team in concept design, die design, simulations, and material selection to ensure manufacturability and performance.
Drive innovation in die casting processes, alloys, and tooling to enhance product quality, reduce cycle time, and improve cost efficiency.
Lead APQP, FMEA, and PPAP activities to ensure smooth product launch and customer approval.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, tooling, quality, production, and supply chain) to translate customer needs into reliable manufacturing solutions.
Review and approve CAD models, simulation reports, and die/tool designs before prototype and production trials.
Oversee prototype validation, testing, and root cause analysis of casting defects; implement corrective and preventive measures.
Manage multiple R&D projects with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables; provide regular updates to senior management and customers.
Identify and implement value engineering initiatives to optimize product weight, improve yield, and enhance die/tool life.
Build partnerships with suppliers, academic institutions, and technology providers for new process and material innovations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO, safety norms) in all R&D activities.
Support knowledge management by documenting learnings, best practices, and technical guidelines for future projects.
