Lead Java Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level Java applications
• Architect scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Java developers
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Drive the adoption of modern development practices including microservices, CI/CD, and DevOps
• Optimize application performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure system reliability
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and Agile ceremonies
• Research and evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design specifications
• Ensure security best practices are implemented throughout the development lifecycle
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and team productivity

Preferred candidate profile

Core Java

• Strong expertise in

  Java 8+

  (Java 11, 17, or 21 preferred)
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles
• Proficiency in multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimisation
• Experience with Java Collections Framework, Stream API, and Lambda expressions

Frameworks & Technologies

• Extensive experience with

  Spring Framework

  (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security)
• Hands-on experience with

  Hibernate/JPA

  for ORM
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
• Experience with microservices architecture and related patterns
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ)

Databases

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle)
• Understanding of database design, optimisation, and query tuning
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra) is a plus

Other Technical Skills

• Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Angular) is beneficial
• Knowledge of web services (SOAP, REST, GraphQL)
• Understanding of security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
