Lead Fabrication Cell - Production

Production Processes -

• Lead and manage the

  entire production lifecycle

  , including

  capacity planning

  ,

  resource allocation

  , and

  daily/weekly/monthly scheduling

  , to ensure achievement of

  On-Time Delivery In Full (OTDIF)

  targets across in-house and group company operations.
• Develop, publish, and monitor

  short-term and long-term production plans

  aligned with customer demand, sales forecasts, inventory targets, and business objectives.
• Ensure

  real-time visibility

  of production status through dashboards, shift-wise tracking, and escalation mechanisms to address any deviations.
• Track and analyse

  key production KPIs

  (e.g., productivity, OEE, downtime, rejection rates, plan vs actual) and drive continuous improvement to enhance operational performance.
• Optimize the use of all resources

  manpower (PA & CA), machines, materials, tools, and utilities

  —to maximize output and reduce operational costs.
• Coordinate with

  application engineering, procurement, stores, and quality

  teams to resolve design or material-related issues that may affect production flow.
• Implement

  risk-based planning

  to mitigate disruptions due to machine breakdowns, material shortages, or external dependencies.
• Monitor production schedules for

  outsourced and subcontracted processes

  , ensuring alignment with internal timelines.
• Drive

  compliance with safety standards

  , process SOPs, and EHS norms to ensure a safe working environment on the shop floor.
• Promote a culture of

  ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

  within the production team.

SAP (Production Planning & Execution)

• Oversee and manage the

  SAP PP module

  to ensure effective production planning, including

  Bill of Materials (BOM) verification

  , routing validation, and real-time shop floor control.
• Maintain the accuracy and timeliness of critical SAP data such as

  BOMs

  ,

  material master records

  ,

  work centers

  , and

  production orders

  , ensuring alignment with actual production activities.
• Develop, document, and implement

  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  for SAP processes related to production planning and execution.
• Provide ongoing

  training and support

  to production team on SAP functionalities, ensuring effective system usage and data integrity.
• Collaborate closely with the

  IT / SAP support teams

  to drive system enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements and best practices tailored to manufacturing needs.
• Coordinate system upgrades, data audits, and validations to maintain SAP’s reliability as a planning and execution tool.
• Leverage SAP analytics to generate actionable insights for optimizing production schedules and inventory management.
• Facilitate seamless integration between SAP PP/MM modules and other enterprise systems to enable end-to-end visibility of production workflows.

Material & Inventory Management

• Monitor and control inventory levels to maintain an optimal balance between

  cost efficiency

  and

  uninterrupted production flow

  , with a focus on managing stock by defined locations and aging analysis.
• Collaborate closely with the

  procurement team

  to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and consumables, preventing production delays.
• Implement demand-driven inventory planning strategies to minimize excess and obsolete stock, reducing carrying costs and improving working capital efficiency.
• Conduct regular

  inventory audits

  and cycle counts to maintain data accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.
• Utilize forecasting tools and SAP reports to anticipate material requirements and adjust reorder points proactively.
• Drive initiatives for

  inventory optimization

  , including just-in-time (JIT) delivery and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) where applicable.
• Establish and enforce inventory management best practices to improve stock rotation, reduce waste, and support lean manufacturing principles.

Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and mentor the

  Production team

  , fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance, with specialized knowledge in

  laser cutting, routing and bending machine operations

• Serve as a critical liaison between the

  internal group companies, procurement, production, stores, and PPC teams

  , ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to drive smooth and efficient operations.
• Champion

  process improvement initiatives

  , promoting the adoption of tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
• Drive the implementation of

  lean manufacturing principles

  across the production floor to eliminate waste, optimize workflows, and boost productivity.
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination to swiftly resolve operational challenges and maintain production continuity.
• Develop and implement training programs to upskill team members, enhancing their technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.
