Job Summary:

The Lead Engineer is responsible for generating NC program in CATIA with Vericut validation, creates NC layout, supports shop floor, participates quality clinic for CFT. This role will lead the development and validation of CNC programs for complex aerostructure parts. It will coordinate with design, methods and quality teams to resolve issues and ensure efficient production processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develops tool path generation for CNC programs (Milling & Turning) and setup sheet using CATIA V5, IMS post and Vericut.
• Verifies CNC programs using Vericut and IMS post buildup for newer machines.
• Manages & prepares Engineering Change Request & tool assembly build
• Provides continuous shop support for FAI, continuous improvement and for production jobs
• Collaborates with Process Engineering, Tool Design, Production, and Quality departments.
• Participates in cross functional team meeting to define process, process FMEA, Tool Design, and NC Programming concepts for soft and hard metals.
• Performs Root Cause Analysis
• Develop new process, strives for continuous improvement, formulates procedures and manuals.
• Selection of cutting tools, cutting parameters & machines based on part complexity
• Works on reduction of cycle time and improve tool life through advance strategies

Qualifications:

• BE – Mechanical
• Experience - 5 Years and above
• Preferred experience - Aerospace industry

Skills:

• NC Programming experience on 3 axis VMC, HMC, 3 axis with rotary table and 5 axis machines are preferred
• Solid and Surface modelling using CATIA V5 or similar CAD/CAM tool experience is must
• Knowledge of machining of aerospace components like Aluminium, Titanium, Inconel, Steel, Forging ranging from smaller to larger parts
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing, manufacturing process & specs, jigs and fixture, cutting tools and cutting methods, CNC machines, fabrication techniques, quality requirement for aerospace industry
• Should be able to express ideas, interact with overseas counterparts
