Job Summary:

The incumbent will be a senior contributor who works highly independently and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to perform engineering duties in researching, planning, designing, and developing products for use in the Aerospace or Electronics marketplace. The profile specializes in complex technical matters, works within a collaborative Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, and is responsible for multiple independent tasks.

This role includes the additional responsibility to serve as the team leader over an Electrical Engineering group of approximately 6 individuals. The team lead will provide work direction and technical support to team members, as well as provide coaching, personnel development and inputs into performance appraisals and other associated supervisory tasks as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Lead technical associates to develop technically sound and cost-effective solutions for Aerospace and Electronics new product efforts.
• Demonstrate proficiency with verbal and written English for technical reports, presentations, analyses, or other communications at the appropriate level throughout the organization.
• Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Produce thorough and accurate design and development work of suitable complexity that meets all customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, producibility, quality, and reliability.
• Utilize proficient problem-solving processes, documentation, tools and analyses to quickly and effectively identify root cause and corrective actions to technical challenges and/or issue in support of product development and product sustaining assignments
• Generate and review product development documentation including proposals, technical reports, procedures, correspondence, etc. necessary to satisfy customer and program requirements.
• Self-directed and motivated while working and communicating effectively within a team environment that consists of several engineering, operations, quality, and business disciplines.
• Analyze design requirements and objectives, define optimum design criteria and approach, design system or component elements.
• Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

Knowledge:

Demonstrates mastery in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Highly Effective in the majority of the following areas:

• Digital circuit design and analysis for digital signal integrity, timing and noise.
• Analog circuit design, including determining component voltage, current, and thermal stresses for component derating and worst-case analysis.
• Various power conversion topology and design constraints.
• Design for high reliability or regulated industries including circuit level Failure Mode Effect Analysis and Reliability Predictions. DO-254, DO-160, and DO-178 experience preferred.
• Schematic capture implementation, and layout review.
• Component obsolescence analysis and redesign, including the generation of engineering white papers and change order management.
• Multi -Technical Project Management.
• Document Management

Working Conditions:

May need to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)
