A skilled and detail-oriented Energy Management System Engineer with experience in detailed designing of Plant/Grid EMS, automation and digital control solutions.
Adept at ensuring operational safety, reliability, and efficiency through precise system integration.
Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices.
Major Responsibilities: - Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews engineering work within a discipline on a project or assignment in a global business unit.
- Supervises the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists, designers and drafters.
- Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports in accordance with approved procedures and holds career development discussions.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
- Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates.
- Coordinates with client representatives as delegated to obtain their approval on phases of work.
- Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
- Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups.
- Ensures that engineers supervised receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.

Education and Experience Requirements: - A recognized bachelor s/master s degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of minimum 18 years.
- Site experience will be an added advantage
Required Knowledge and Skills: - Possess a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work in a project or staff group.
- Provide plant/grid EMS, automation, and digital control solutions, which includes following:
- Manages sharing of power delivered by all heterogeneous sources (fossil and/or renewable) between all equipment, in accordance with their respective acceptance/rejection capabilities
- Designs, develops, and maintains sophisticated systems that monitor and control the reliability and efficiency of power grids
- Configuring EMS software, such as , designing HMI displays, developing system data models, and conducting extensive testing (PreFAT, FAT, SAT)
- Experience with SCADA configuration, tuning, and testing.
- Standards & Compliance: IEEE, NESC, safety regulations, NERC standards.
- Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
- Understanding engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
- Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
- Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- Skill in oral and written communication and writing technical reports.
