Lead DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. DevOps Leadership & Infrastructure Ownership

• Lead and mentor a DevOps engineering team, driving best practices in automation, CI/CD, containerization, observability, and cloud infrastructure.
  
• Own end-to-end responsibility for infrastructure design, deployment, scaling, monitoring, and reliability across AWS and on-prem environments.
  
• Establish DevOps standards, governance models, and operational excellence frameworks.
  

2. Architecture, Design & Code Involvement

• Participate as a key stakeholder in application architecture, design reviews, and solution planning.
  
• Contribute to writing code, reviewing code, and validating architectural decisions for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  
• Evaluate backend and frontend code when required to support customer issues or optimize performance.
  

3. Advanced Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

• Diagnose complex issues across distributed systems, networking layers, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  
• Conduct deep root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
  
• Provide expert-level support during high-severity incidents and production outages.
  

4. Automation, Scripting & Tooling

• Design and develop automation frameworks using Python, Shell, Terraform, CloudFormation or similar tools.
  
• Automate provisioning, deployments, upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and operational workflows.
  
• Reduce manual intervention and optimize operational efficiency through scripting and CI/CD enhancements.
  

5. SaaS Framework Engineering

• Architect, build, and maintain a secure, robust, high-performance SaaS framework on AWS/OCP.
  
• Enable multi-tenancy, automated provisioning, monitoring, upgrades, and management of carrier-grade telecom network functions.
  
• Ensure adherence to high availability, security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
  

6. Observability, Monitoring & Logging

• Ownership of observability stack including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Elastic stack, Kibana, CloudWatch, and custom dashboards.
  
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, tracing, and analytics to support SRE best practices.
  

7. Customer Engagement & Communication

• Work directly with customers to understand issues, reproduce problems, run tests, and provide timely progress updates.
  
• Serve as a technical liaison during escalations and collaborate on preventative strategies.
  
• Prepare technical documentation, RCA reports, knowledge base articles, and status summaries.
  

8. Security, Compliance & Best Practices

• Ensure system security across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container platforms, and networking layers.
  
• Implement IAM best practices, data protection policies, vulnerability remediation, and secure configurations.
  
• Support compliance requirements for enterprise and telecom sector customers.
  

9. Collaboration & Agile Delivery

• Work closely with development, QA, architecture, and operations teams in an agile environment.
  
• Participate and sometimes lead scrum ceremonies including grooming, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
  

10. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional team members.
  
• Promote knowledge-sharing through documentation, training sessions, and engineering best practices.
  

Required Qualifications

• 912 years of hands-on DevOps experience

  , including CI/CD, automation, cloud, monitoring, and customer-facing production support.
• Strong experience in

  AWS services

  , containerization, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies.
• Hands-on expertise with

  Kubernetes, Docker

  , and orchestration frameworks.
• Extensive experience with

  CI/CD tools

  like Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, etc.
• Proficiency with

  IaC tools

  (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Strong analytical ability to inspect

  backend and frontend code

  and run tests when needed.
• Good understanding of

  microservices architectures

  , public cloud platforms, server virtualization (AWS, ESXi, KVM, HyperV).
• Deep knowledge of

  Linux OS

  , scripting (Shell, Python), REST APIs, API gateways.
• Experience with

  observability tools

  : Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic Stack, CloudWatch.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with global teams and customers.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field;
