Lead - Data Science

You will be responsible for leading and conducting independent validations of AI/ML models (traditional and Generative AI) within various financial domains such as consumer and commercial credit risk, marketing, fraud, and AML. Your primary focus will be to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of models by overseeing and performing thorough validations. Additionally, you will drive AI validation projects by planning, executing, and ensuring successful implementation aligned with organizational goals. Engaging with different departments to ensure cohesive strategy implementation, sharing insights, and fostering a collaborative work environment is essential. Your role will also involve contributing expertise to the development of policies guiding AI practices and model risk management, ensuring regulatory compliance and ethical standards are met. Staying updated on the evolving regulatory landscape surrounding AI and ML will be crucial. Furthermore, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing team members to foster a culture of collaboration and build a strong, knowledgeable team. Utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to automate workflows, enhance efficiency, and improve process integration will be part of your responsibilities. You will also contribute to designing and executing model testing and monitoring processes. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 6 years of model validation or Model Risk Management experience, preferably within the banking and financial services domain, with a deep understanding of industry-specific requirements and challenges. Demonstrated expertise in AI techniques such as Machine Learning, natural language processing, and deep learning, along with experience using ML libraries like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or equivalent, is required. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 1 year of experience supervising projects and team members, showcasing your ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively. A foundational knowledge of Generative AI, with relevant coursework, is necessary. Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL are essential, along with strong interpersonal skills to lead teams, manage client relationships, and collaborate effectively with partners. Experience collaborating with partners, stakeholders, and teams across multiple geographies and organizational levels is advantageous. You should possess in-depth knowledge of regulations surrounding AI in the banking industry and practical experience in credit risk and fraud models. The ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders with varying levels of technical proficiency is crucial. Ideally, you should hold a Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline, demonstrating a high level of expertise and commitment to the field. Experience in developing, validating, or implementing Gen AI models, prior regulatory modeling development experience, and hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms like GCP and AWS would set you apart. Excellent communication and presentation skills would be an added advantage.,
