Lead Civil Engineer (UG / General Civil)

As the successful candidate, you will:

Assist the Engineering Manager with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
Prepare Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) in consultation with the Engineering Manager Prepare/assign work tasks (via signed off EWPs) to individuals and continuously monito progress and quality Develop the manpower schedule to be part of the engineering and project schedule in conjunction with the other disciplines Develop and maintain the civil work plan for insertion into the project specific execution plan Assist in the compilation and delivery of monthly engineering status reports Represent the discipline in the project engineering coordination meetings Prepare and/or review project procedures, standard specifications and design criteria Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists Ensure co-ordination with designers and engineers within the civil discipline and with other disciplines Ensure relevant technical experts are involved in the design process as required and facilitate the sharing of technical expertise both across projects and other Hatch offices Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design Prepare engineering calculations and technical specifications Prepare and contribute to technical memos, reports and close out reports, within areas of expertise Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates Participate in and contribute to design reviews Carry out assigned tasks within budget and schedule Stamp/sign documents and drawings as required and as qualifications allow Undertake construction supervision and management dependent upon project demands Support of site engineering team to provide technical solutions and timely response to technical queries Work to ensure the implementation of safety in design and integrity principles in design documentation

You bring to the role:

Essential A recognized degree in civil engineering from an accredited university 15+ years experience in relevant civil engineering design and management Experience with working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment Good communication and interpersonal skills Experience in the use of Civil3D, OpenRoads and Microstation Good planning and organizational skills Ability to function with minimal supervision Good safety awareness Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
