Lead Backend Engineer

As a leader in the engineering team of a growing product company, you will play a crucial role in owning the backend architecture of a global communication platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Architecting backend systems in NestJS and Golang to meet global scale and enterprise-grade performance. - Driving design for microservices, real-time comms (WebSockets, WebRTC), and data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis). - Leading code reviews, enforcing coding standards, and maintaining CI/CD discipline. - Mentoring and upskilling backend engineers. - Collaborating cross-functionally with frontend, DevOps, and product leaders. - Owning technical problem-solving by anticipating bottlenecks, making hard calls, and preventing tech debt. To qualify for this role, you should have: - 6-8 years of experience in backend engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. - Expertise in Golang and Node.js (NestJS). - Strong database tuning skills in PostgreSQL and Redis. - Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable deployment. - Experience in building real-time systems at scale. - Proven ability to lead technical discussions and inspire engineering teams. - A track record of shipping production-grade, high-performance systems.
