As a Laundry Staff / Laundry Attendant at Galaxy Hospital, you will be entrusted with the crucial responsibility of managing the collection, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and distribution of hospital linens, uniforms, and patient clothing. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that all laundry items are processed efficiently, hygienically, and in adherence to hospital infection control standards. Your key responsibilities will include collecting soiled linen and garments from various hospital departments, sorting laundry by fabric type and level of contamination, operating washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment, ensuring proper use of detergents and disinfectants, folding, sorting, and distributing clean linen and uniforms, inspecting laundry for damage, maintaining cleanliness in the laundry area, and following all hospital policies, especially infection control, safety, and personal hygiene standards. To excel in this role, you should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in laundry services (especially in healthcare or hospitality settings), a basic understanding of infection control and hygiene practices, physical stamina, attention to detail, good time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Your work environment will primarily be in a hospital laundry facility, with exposure to hot temperatures, chemicals, and soiled materials. You may be required to work weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
