Qualifications ITI certification in Turner or relevant discipline Proven experience as a Turner or in a similar role Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Strong mechanical aptitude Attention to detail and precision Good understanding of safety procedures Skills Lathe operation, Machining, Technical drawing interpretation, Machine maintenance, Precision measurement, Safety compliance, Problem-solving Key Responsibilities Operating Lathes: Using lathes to create cylindrical shapes, cut threads, and perform other turning operations. Setting Up Machines: Preparing lathes and other turning machines for specific tasks, including selecting appropriate cutting tools and setting machine parameters. Reading and Interpreting Drawings: Understanding and following engineering drawings to ensure accurate part dimensions and specifications. Quality Control: Measuring and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on lathes and other turning equipment. Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the turning process. Collaboration: Working with engineers, designers, and other production personnel to achieve project goals.
