Objective

To lead a team of chemists and engineer for successful execution of research projects within specified timeline and budget while adhering to company EHS guidelines and policies. To create innovative projects and bring new know-how, technologies, products, and processes for the company.

Main Task

• Be in charge of functional leadership of the lab team.
• Observes and validates market trends and competitor activities (products, patents, literature).
• Recommend for new products/projects/applications within the innovation flow in cooperation with the concerned project team.
• Defines initiates and leads market-/customer related projects and product developments.
• Monitor, validate and document progresses achievements of milestones, coordinate the transfer of results into pilot plant, production and other business units if necessary.
• Be in constant touch with scientific partners and operative units. Extend his own knowledge constantly.
• Works within the allocated budget.
• Organizes the workflow in the lab in cooperation with the lab team and coordinate activities in the pilot plant if necessary.
• Be responsible for compliance of working-. security- and environmental policies within his scope of responsibility. Initiate endangerment assessments and initialize arrangements.
• Ensures acquisition, documentation, enhancement and transfer of existing and elaborated knowledge to all levels.
• Enables clarification of technical, patent legal as well as economic assumptions within projects and process development in cooperation with the concerned unit.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

Ph.D. Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) with 1-2 years of postdoctoral research experience
