Research chemist

You will be responsible for the synthesis and scale-up of small organic molecules, intermediates, and active ingredients ranging from milligram to multikilogram quantities. This will involve meticulous planning of synthesis, including retrosynthesis and conducting literature searches. Additionally, you will be involved in process development and optimization of routes leading to advanced intermediates or finished products, encompassing chemical, physical, and preparative aspects. Your role will also include the planning, evaluation, and documentation of experiments, as well as the preparation of tech transfer documents such as lab development reports. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams, including research, analytical, safety, and other relevant departments. Ensuring compliance with BASF Environmental Health Safety (EHS), HR policies, and work practices will be paramount in your day-to-day activities. To excel in this position, you are required to hold a postgraduate degree (M. Sc.) in organic chemistry with a strong theoretical foundation in organic synthesis. You should have accumulated 5 to 8 years of working experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or agrochemical industry as a chemist. Effective communication and technical skills are essential to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role.,
