Lab Chemist

As a Chemist specializing in cattle feed testing, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including preparing compounds, testing solutions, and reagents to conduct experiments. You will be advising and coordinating on test procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the testing process. Your role will also involve determining the relationships between chemical and physical properties, composition, structures, and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds. This will be achieved through the use of chromatography, spectrophotometry, and spectroscopy techniques. Additionally, you will be expected to develop, improve, and customize equipment, products, formulas, analytical methods, and processes. Collaboration with engineers and scientists on the analysis, interpretation, and development of tests will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities. In your capacity as a Chemist, you will induce reactions to chemical substances using various stimuli such as light, energy, heat, and chemical catalysts. It will be crucial for you to document your findings in technical papers and reports, while also preparing specifications and testing standards for reference. Maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment will be part of your routine, ensuring that all technology is in proper working condition. In case of any issues, you will troubleshoot to resolve them promptly. Conducting quality control tests to prevent contamination of compounds or equipment will also fall under your purview. Furthermore, you will be in charge of ordering laboratory supplies and chemicals, monitoring expiration dates to maintain a well-equipped and operational laboratory environment.
