L2 Network Support Engineer

Location: Ahmedabad

Experience

Responsibilities:

• Manage and troubleshoot network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) and infrastructure
• Provide support for complex network issues, including firewall, routing, and switching
• Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of wireless network environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve networking issues and enhance network performance.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of TCP/IP
• Knowledge of multi-vendor router, switch, firewall, wireless controller and access point
• Basic knowledge of ILL and MPLS
• Basic network troubleshooting.
• Should have knowledge of IPv6
• Should have knowledge of VLSM, IP management, regular configuration backup etc.
• Basic knowledge on Linux will be considered
• Should have knowledge of VLSM, IP management, regular configuration backup etc.
• Switching (VLAN, STP, VTP, etc.)
• Firewall Management (Firewall Rules, VPN Configuration, Security Policies, UTM features like web filtering, IDS, IPS etc.)
• Routing (OSPF, BGP, Static Routing, etc.)
• Wireless Networking (Wi-Fi Configuration, Site Survey, Troubleshooting.)
• Must have Good written and oral communication skills
• Good to have experience of working with multiple clients with different architecture\configuration

Experience and Certifications:

• Experience in Network Engineering with a focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
• Proven experience in switching, routing, firewall management, and wireless networking
• Strong understanding of network protocols, troubleshooting skills, and experience with network monitoring tools
• Experience with firewall configuration and VPN setup.
• Hands-on experience in maintaining and configuring Wi-Fi networks (Access Points, Controllers, etc.)
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly preferred.
