Job Description

As a Level 2 (L2) Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting complex network systems. In this mid-level IT position, you will be responsible for addressing escalated network issues, configuring and maintaining network devices, monitoring network performance, and collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless network operations. Your key responsibilities as an L2 Network Engineer will include: - Diagnosing and resolving network issues escalated from Level 1 support. - Troubleshooting routing, switching, and connectivity problems effectively. - Utilizing tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG for in-depth network analysis. - Configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), VLANs, VPNs, and subnetting. - Applying access control lists (ACLs) and security policies to enhance network security. - Monitoring network health and performance, implementing QoS, bandwidth shaping, and analyzing logs to prevent outages. - Creating and updating network topology diagrams and maintaining documentation for network configurations. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve network issues and assisting in upgrades and migrations. You will work with a range of common tools and technologies, including vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, and Ubiquiti, as well as protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, DHCP, and DNS. Monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, and PRTG, along with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Remedy, will also be part of your toolkit. To excel in this role, you are expected to have certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or be progressing towards CCNP, along with at least 2-4 years of experience in networking. Strong understanding of the OSI model, subnetting, and troubleshooting methodologies will be essential for success in this position. This is a full-time position with day shift working hours from Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required. The work location is on-site.,
