Job Description

As a Level 2 (L2) Network Engineer, your primary role will involve maintaining and troubleshooting complex network systems. You will be part of a tiered support model, where you will handle more advanced issues compared to L1 engineers and collaborate with L3 for advanced troubleshooting and architecture. Key Responsibilities: - Network Troubleshooting & Support: - Diagnose and resolve network issues escalated from L1. - Troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity problems. - Utilize tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG for in-depth analysis. - Configuration & Maintenance: - Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet. - Manage VLANs, VPNs, and subnetting effectively. - Implement access control lists (ACLs) and security policies. - Monitoring & Performance Optimization: - Monitor network health and performance metrics. - Implement Quality of Service (QoS), bandwidth shaping, and traffic prioritization. - Analyze logs and metrics to proactively prevent future network outages. - Documentation: - Create and update network topology diagrams for better understanding. - Maintain documentation for network configurations and operational procedures. - Collaboration: - Work closely with other teams such as L1, L3, SysAdmins, and Security to resolve cross-functional issues efficiently. - Assist in network upgrades and migrations for seamless transitions. Common Tools & Technologies: - Vendors: Cisco (IOS, NX-OS), Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, Ubiquiti - Protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, DHCP, DNS - Monitoring Tools: Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG - Ticketing Systems: ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy Typical Requirements: - Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or progressing towards CCNP - Experience: 2-4 years in networking - Skills: Strong understanding of the OSI model, subnetting, and troubleshooting methodologies This job is Full-time with a Day shift schedule from Monday to Friday with weekend availability. The work location is in person.,
