Role & responsibilities :- In a hotel, a kitchen steward's primary duties revolve around maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within the kitchen and related areas . This includes washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and assisting with waste disposal. They also play a role in inventory management and ensuring that the kitchen is properly stocked. Here's a more detailed breakdown of a kitchen steward's work: 1. Cleaning and Sanitation: Cleaning kitchen surfaces and equipment: Maintaining cleanliness of stoves, ovens, refrigerators, grills, and other kitchen equipment is crucial. Sweeping and mopping floors: Keeping the kitchen floor clean and free of debris is important for hygiene. Operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment: This includes operating dishwashing machines and ensuring they are functioning correctly. 2. Waste Disposal: Collecting and removing trash: Removing trash from all areas of the kitchen and back-of-house is a key task.
