Handling LEA Notices

Role & responsibilities

To handle time bound statutory notices received from Law enforcement agencies (Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), Serious fraud investigation officer (SFIO), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Anti-terrorist Squad (ATS), Anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Cyber- crime, Narcotics Crime Bureau (NCB), NIA, Customs etc.). Act as a Liaison between law enforcement agencies (LEA) and internal stakeholders for timely submission to LEAs.

Primary Liaison with LEA

• Be a primary Liaison with law enforcement/regulatory authorities.
• Ensure that any summons, notices or attachment orders received from LEAs are actioned /responded in a timely and appropriate manner. Thereby ensuring no legal/penal action/ reputational risk to the bank owing to non-compliance.
• Coordination/timely support/assisting in live cases for arresting fraudsters. Thereby preventing other such frauds on the bank.

• LEA activity

• One-point contact from the bank perspective for various LEAs.
• Ensuring single comprehensive submission from banks perspective to the law enforcement agencies.
• Reviewing and ensuring tracking of communication received on banks designated email Id created exclusively for law enforcement agencies.
• Ensuring timely responses to be send to central law enforcement agencies.
• Ensuring 100% completeness and correctness of data submission is done
• Preparing periodic submission of reports to senior management/board as and when asked.
• Escalation to respective internal stakeholders in case of breach of TAT.
• Publishing periodic LEA MIS to all internal stakeholders.

• Escalations- MD/Senior management/RBI

• Ensuring timely action on escalation received from MD desk and other senior management executives.

• Query Resolution

• Guidance to various business groups in the bank with regards to inquiries /queries from LEA/Fraud/ Vigilance perspective pertaining to their respective domains. • Handling / managing Law Enforcement agencies officials with good interpersonal skills.

• Sharing of Data with other stake holders

• Ensure to maintain year-wise MIS/tracker of notices from LEAs. • Handling RBI queries with reference to LEA related information.
