Job Summary:

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Quantity Surveying:

  Oversee and ensure the accuracy of quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and BOQ preparation for complex infrastructure projects.

• Cost Estimation & Financial Control:

  Prepare detailed cost estimates, manage project budgets, and monitor financial performance throughout the lifecycle of the project. Provide strategic recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.

• Tendering & Contract Administration:

  Lead the preparation of tender documents, evaluate bids, and provide recommendations. Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

• Rate Analysis & Value Engineering:

  Perform detailed rate analysis for labor, materials, and equipment. Lead value engineering exercises to optimize project costs and ensure value for money.

• Site Measurement & Verification:

  Conduct periodic site visits to verify measurements, assess the quality of work completed, and ensure alignment with project specifications.

• Billing & Payment Certification:

  Manage and verify client and subcontractor billing, ensure timely submission of payment certificates, and resolve any disputes related to financial claims.

• Cost Control & Reporting:

  Monitor and control project costs, assess budget variances, and provide regular cost reports to senior management. Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

• Risk Management:

  Identify and mitigate potential financial risks, including cost overruns, procurement delays, and disputes.

• Team Leadership & Mentoring:

  Supervise and mentor junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance on technical and professional development.

• Stakeholder Coordination:

  Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution and alignment on commercial matters.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Experience:

  Total 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and contract administration, particularly in civil infrastructure projects.

• Experience in Leadership:

  Proven track record of managing junior surveyors and teams, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of projects.

Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Candy, Revit, Primavera).
• In-depth understanding of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and standard methods of measurement.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and financial management skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple complex projects and manage competing deadlines effectively.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC or other standard forms of contracts.
• Attention to detail and an ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Certifications (preferred):

• Certification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Cost Management from a recognized institute.
• Knowledge of FIDIC or other standard forms of contract is a must.
• Knowledge of

  Project Management

  tools and methodologies (PMP).

Working Conditions:

• Primarily an office-based role in Mumbai, with regular site visits to monitor project progress and validate financial aspects.
• Candidates should be willing to work extended hours during peak project phases, ensuring that deadlines and budgets are adhered to.
