Position: Junior Program Officer

Location: Mumbai, India

Relevant Sectors: Program Implementation; Gender; Youth

What you will do:

1] Program Implementation

- Mobilise poor young women who want to join higher education to join Akshara’ program

- Engage with young women, do home visits and motivate them

- Interact with young women, inspire them to be Change-makers and Gender Advocates

- Develop an engagement strategy for building a community of young women

- Organize and support trainings on gender based and health issues

2] Documentation

- Compile, organise and manage program and people data in Excel

3] Communications

- Manage logistics for meetings

- Find messages and videos of interest to youth for circulation

- Form What’s App Groups and engage them with information

Skills and Qualifications:

- A graduate in Social Work or Social Sciences – Fresher and with experience of 2-5 years

- Computer skills, especially Excel and Internet savvy

- Commitment to fight for a social cause

- Ease of communication in Marathi and/or Hindi and English

- Good English written communication skills

Selection Process:

3) Two face to face interviews on Zoom and personally

Salary:

- According to Social Work college scales, experience and educational qualifications.

Akshara is a women’s organisation which for the past 30 years has focused on – women’s empowerment and prevention of violence against women.
