Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our LAIA Innovation Pvt. Ltd. team in Bangalore. This role is for builders, not just CAD designers.
If you've personally built mechanisms like scissor lifts, telescopic arms, or AS/RS systems and integrated them with electronics then this role is for you.

Role & responsibilities

  • Design & build mechanisms: scissor lifts, telescopic rails, AS/RS units.
  • Design subsystems for AGVs and other robotic systems.
  • Prototype and fabricate using 3D printing, CNC, and workshop tools.
  • Draft detailed parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with electronics engineers to integrate motors, sensors, and actuators.
  • Validate performance, identify failure points, and refine designs.
  • Manage documentation and procurement.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 1-3 years of hands-on build experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on robotics and systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials & manufacturing.
  • Experience with kinematics, dynamics, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing & CNC machining.
  • Understanding of DFMA.
  • Experience in logistics or automation systems.
  • Understanding of AS/RS design principles
