We're looking for a hands-on Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our LAIA Innovation Pvt. Ltd. team in Bangalore. This role is for builders, not just CAD designers. If you've personally built mechanisms like scissor lifts, telescopic arms, or AS/RS systems and integrated them with electronics then this role is for you. Role & responsibilities Design & build mechanisms: scissor lifts, telescopic rails, AS/RS units. Design subsystems for AGVs and other robotic systems. Prototype and fabricate using 3D printing, CNC, and workshop tools. Draft detailed parts and assemblies in SolidWorks. Collaborate with electronics engineers to integrate motors, sensors, and actuators. Validate performance, identify failure points, and refine designs. Manage documentation and procurement. Preferred candidate profile 1-3 years of hands-on build experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on robotics and systems. Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials & manufacturing. Experience with kinematics, dynamics, and control systems. Familiarity with additive manufacturing & CNC machining. Understanding of DFMA. Experience in logistics or automation systems. Understanding of AS/RS design principles

Mechanical Design Engineer - Sheet metal bengaluru 1 - 3 years INR 2.5 - 3.75 Lacs P.A. Work from Office Full Time

Were looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Sheet Metal (1-3 yrs experience) to join our LAIA Innovation Pvt. Ltd. team in Bangalore. This role is for builders, not just CAD modelers you should have seen your designs being laser-cut, bent, welded and assembled in the real world. If you've designed sheet-metal enclosures, cabinets, panels or kiosks that were actually fabricated, this role is for you. Role & responsibilities Design sheet-metal enclosures for our automated delivery units (doors, inner frames, brackets, mounting plates, panels). Use SolidWorks / Solid Works sheet-metal tools to create 3D models, flat patterns, bend allowances, reliefs and corner treatments. Prepare complete 2D production drawings with dimensions, tolerances, welding / fastening details and BOMs. Select and integrate hinges, latches, locks, telescopic rails, linear guides, fasteners and gaskets for doors and moving mechanisms. Plan mounting and routing for PCBs, power supplies, sensors and wiring harnesses (cable entry, glands, grommets, strain relief). Apply DFM / DFA / DFMA so parts are easy to manufacture and assemble using laser cutting, bending, welding and powder coating. Work closely with fabrication vendors / machine shops to solve manufacturability issues and iterate on prototypes. Support prototype assembly, perform fit-up checks, identify issues on the shop floor and update designs accordingly. Maintain organised CAD assemblies, drawings and revision history. Required Candidate Profile Education: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Mechatronics (or similar). Experience: 1-3 years as Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer working on sheet-metal products (enclosures, cabinets, control panels, kiosks, EV chargers, machinery etc.). At least one product you designed must have been actually manufactured not only academic projects. Skills: Strong skills in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal, Part & Assembly) or equivalent 3D CAD. Good understanding of sheet-metal fabrication : laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, powder coating. Experience preparing 2D drawings, GD&T / tolerances, BOMs and production documentation . Basic knowledge of fasteners and joints (screws, nuts, tapped holes, clearance holes, rivets, welds). Comfortable interacting with vendors and shop-floor teams , including communication in Kannada and English . Good to Have Experience in enclosure design for kiosks, lockers, control panels, ATMs, EV chargers or similar products. Exposure to simple mechanisms (slides, guides, linkages, scissor / telescopic arrangements). Understanding of IP protection, gaskets and seals for outdoor / semi-outdoor products. Experience in automation / industrial equipment / AGV systems . Important This role is not for pure 3D modelling only. We are specifically looking for an engineer who wants to see their designs become real hardware and is willing to learn and iterate with our fabrication partners.
