About the Role

Junior Barista / Matcha Barista

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve

  matcha drinks, hojicha beverages, espresso-based coffees

  , and TEKAs signature menu items.
• Learn and follow correct

  matcha whisking, sifting, and brewing techniques

  .
• Maintain drink quality, presentation, and consistency according to SOPs.
• Greet and interact with customers warmly, ensuring a welcoming TEKA experience.
• Assist in bar setup, ingredient preparation, and closing tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the bar and workstation.
• Monitor basic inventory (milk, teas, matcha, syrups) and report shortages.
• Work efficiently during busy hours with a positive attitude.
• Stay updated on new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  

Required Experience & Skills

• Around 1 year of experience

  in a caf or food & beverage environment.
• Basic knowledge of

  espresso extraction, milk steaming, and caf workflow

  .
• Interest in matcha, Japanese tea culture, and specialty beverages.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and work as part of a team.
• Familiarity with POS billing is a plus (not mandatory).
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience preparing matcha or tea drinks is an advantage.
• Basic latte art is a plus but can be trained.
• Passion for learning, experimenting, and improving skills.
