Junior Automation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on all instrumentation and control equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to field instruments, control valves, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize production interruptions.

• Calibration & Compliance:

• Conduct regular calibration and validation of instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level transmitters, belt weigh feeders, load cells, etc.) to maintain accuracy and comply with ISO standards and industry regulations.
• Ensure all safety protocols and statutory norms are followed during maintenance and operations.

• Operations & Coordination:

• Monitor instrument outputs and process parameters to ensure healthy operating conditions.
• Coordinate with the process shift in-charge and other departments (Mechanical, Electrical, Production) to execute jobs effectively.

• Documentation & Improvement:

• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, calibration logs, and equipment history cards.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports and assist in preparing the annual budget for spares.
• Assist in developing and implementing improvement activities and process optimization initiatives (e.g., WCM tools, root cause analysis).
• Manage the availability of frequently used spares and raise purchase requisitions as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics.

• Experience:

  Relevant experience in a similar role within a continuous process plant

  or manufacturing industrial environment, preferably 3-5 years.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of

  PLC (siemens s7-1500) and SCADA systems

  , field instruments,

  siemens drives (G120 &S120)

  and control loops.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs (Piping,

  control and Instrumentation Diagrams), and manuals.

• Knowledge of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm systems) and quality standards (e.g., ISO).
• Familiarity with systems like SAP for data and spare management is a plus.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
