Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Follow EHS guidelines during quality checks and physical activities
  • Inspect and verify incoming raw materials against specifications (physical, chemical properties).
  • Ensure supplier compliance and maintain RM test records.
  • Perform daily inspections of plasterboard production lines and finished goods.
  • Check dimensions, surface finish, edge integrity, and labeling accuracy.
  • Conduct random sampling for lab tests (flexural strength, moisture resistance, density).
  • Maintain accurate test documentation and escalate deviations
  • Investigate reasons for production stoppages (machine breakdown, quality deviations, material issues).
  • Document findings and recommend corrective/preventive actions to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor key process parameters and identify sources of variation.
  • Use statistical tools (SPC, control charts) to analyze trends and reduce variability.
  • Implement corrective actions to achieve consistent product quality and reduce defects.
  • Investigate complaints through data review, lab tests, and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate corrective actions and communicate resolutions to stakeholders.
  • Visit customer sites to inspect reported issues, collect samples, and document findings.
  • Engage with customers to understand usage patterns and expectations.
  • Analyze complaint data for trends and recurring issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports with findings, root cause, and preventive measures.
  • Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures for testing, complaint handling, RM verification, and process audits.
  • Assist with internal audits and external inspections.
  • Train team members on complaint handling, testing protocols, SOP adherence, and variation control.
  • Ensure SOPs align with ISO and industry standards
  • Ensuring the Equipment Calibration and AMC for the Quality lab

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experienced in a continuous Process Industry for the Building Material, preferably cement industry or QA department in any industry.
  • Exposure to routine quality checks, physical testing, customer complaint handling, RM verification, SOP drafting, and process improvement.
  • Shift Readiness: Must be willing to work in rotational shifts (A: 6:00 AM 2:00 PM, B: 2:00 PM 10:00 PM, C: 10:00 PM 6:00 AM).
  • Extended Hours: Occasional 12-hour shifts possible (A+: 6:00 AM 6:00 PM, B+: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
  • Holiday Working: Ready for holiday work (additional wages as per policy).
  • Physical Work: Includes gypsum board lifting, cutting, packing, and assisting operators when required.
  • Sunday Working: Weekly off will be on weekdays.
