India Journalist cum Producer (f/m/d) DW Tamil Organization Deutsche Welle Posted 16 Jun 2025 Closing date 29 Jun 2025 We are seeking a Journalist cum Producer (f/m/d) DW Tamil for Programming in Chennai, India as of 1 August 2025 or as soon as possible on the basis of a freelance contract limited for two years. THE ROLE produce video content from concept to completion, including scripting, editing, and asset development use a range of video, audio, and digital tools to research, create, and edit high-quality multimedia content uphold the highest journalistic standards while producing engaging digital content tailored for Tamil-speaking audiences on social media conduct in-depth research and collaborate with video editors and social media teams to craft compelling narratives adapt English-language videos into Tamil, ensuring cultural relevance and authenticity exercise sound editorial judgment in developing story ideas and delivering accurate, impartial journalism meet tight deadlines while maintaining editorial excellence, demonstrating strong planning and organizational skills stay informed about the regional social media landscape to maximize content reach and engagement YOUR PROFILE a university degree in a relevant field, completed editorial traineeship, or equivalent journalistic qualification several years of professional experience in journalism, with a strong affinity for social media proven experience as a producer, especially in current events and trending topics excellent command of Tamil and very good knowledge of English strong planning and organizational abilities with a proactive, pragmatic mindset ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and a commitment to diversity willingness to travel across Tamil Nadu and work under time pressure, including weekends As employees of Deutsche Welle, we identify with the values laid down in the Deutsche Welle Act.
