Job Summary:

Senior Engineer R&D (Electrical)

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and validate electrical systems for locomotives (traction converters, auxiliary converters, battery chargers, HV equipment).
Conduct simulations and modeling using
MATLAB/Simulink
,
Simscape Electrical
,
Proteus
,
OrCAD
, or equivalent tools.
Apply hands-on field experience in
testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
locomotive electrical systems.
Perform
prototype development
, compliance testing, and validation activities.
Prepare detailed
technical reports
, documents, and presentations.
Provide
on-site technical support
during field trials and inspections.
Ensure compliance with
RDSO
and international railway standards.
Collaborate with
cross-functional teams
, Indian Railways, OEMs, and certification bodies.
Manage R&D inventory and lab equipment.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to
continuous improvement initiatives
.

Industry Preference:

Experience in
Railway / Locomotive manufacturing, commissioning, or maintenance
.
Familiarity with
traction systems
, auxiliary power supplies, and railway-grade
power electronics
.

Required Technical Skills:

Strong foundation in
electrical systems, HV equipment
, and
locomotive power electronics
.
Knowledge of
high-voltage testing
,
EMI/EMC compliance
, and
safety protocols
.
Proficiency in simulation tools:
MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape Electrical, Proteus, OrCAD
.
CAD/CAE tools:
AutoCAD Electrical
,
EPLAN
(preferred).
MS Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
Ability to
interpret and apply RDSO standards
and global railway specifications.
