Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit. Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Required Skills Accounts Payables: The candidate must have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes and be able to manage and oversee all aspects of the accounts payable department. Finance Foundation: The candidate must have a solid foundation in finance, including knowledge of financial principles, practices, and applications. General Ledger: The candidate must have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications would be considered an advantage. Preferred Skills Real Estate: Knowledge of real estate finance and accounting is a plus. Environmental Accounting: Experience with environmental accounting principles and practices is beneficial. Fixed Asset: Understanding of fixed asset accounting and management is desirable.
