Job Description

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L3 production support for enterprise Java applications on JBoss EAP.
  • Troubleshoot application and middleware issues: thread dumps, heap dumps, GC logs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to JMS messaging systems (e.g., queue backlogs, message delivery failures, dead-letter queues).
  • Monitor and maintain JMS queues and topics in environment
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and develop permanent solutions for recurring production issues Lead incident and problem management efforts including major incident bridges.
  • Collaborate with developers on code-level debugging, hotfixes, and JMS consumer/producer logic.
  • Support release management, patching, and middleware upgrades.
  • Manage and tune JBoss and JVM performance, clustering, and configurations.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts using Shell (Bash/Korn) for monitoring and support tasks.
  • Maintain and monitor batch jobs, application logs, and system alerts.
  • Manage configurations across environments and support access/user management.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support 24x7 critical systems.
  • Document resolutions and contribute to knowledge management.

Required Technical Skills:

  • 8+ years in Java/J2EE application support and development
  • Solid expertise in JMS (Java Messaging Service)
    • Message Queues and Topics
    • Durable and non-durable subscriptions
    • Message selectors
    • Asynchronous messaging patterns
  • Strong in JBoss EAP (6.x/7.x) installation, configuration, tuning, deployment and administration
  • Strong in Shell scripting for automation, log parsing, and alerting
  • Strong in Java/J2EE, REST/SOAP, JDBC, SQL
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system
  • Solid experience in troubleshooting memory leaks, CPU spikes, connection issues
  • Familiar with monitoring tools: Splunk, AppDynamics, ELK, Dynatrace
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines: Git, Jenkins, Nexus
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead critical incident resolution
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, proactive mindset
  • Capable of working cross-functionally with developers, ops, and business teams

Shift & Availability:

  • 2PM -11PM shift with participation in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Flexibility to handle after-hours and weekend support during critical incidents
