Java Engineer - Client Platforms

As a Java Backend Engineer at UBS, your primary role will involve designing, developing, implementing, and managing technology platforms in the client onboarding and lifecycle management areas. Your responsibilities will include integrating various systems to deliver a seamless experience for both clients and advisors, managing the platform's technical roadmap, and fostering partnerships with cross-functional teams. You will be part of the Client Platforms crew in Pune, India, working on Wealth Management Americas (WMA) client-facing technology applications. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, implement, and manage technology platforms in client onboarding and lifecycle management areas - Apply full stack development, security, reliability, and integration technologies on the Azure platform - Integrate with various foundational platforms to deliver a seamless client-advisor experience - Manage platform technical roadmap to continuously evaluate and onboard modern capabilities - Develop partnerships with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform meets firm requirements **Qualifications Required:** - 8+ years of experience in Java backend technology - Expertise in designing, developing, and delivering large, scalable systems - Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Kafka, REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture - Working knowledge of application frameworks like Spring Boot or Micronaut - Familiarity with cloud technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Microsoft Azure services - Good SQL and data analysis skills; experience with NoSQL DBs like Cosmos DB or MongoDB is a plus - UNIX/Linux experience and scripting skills - Additional skills in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and React for web development - Excellent communication, team player, and team coaching/management skills - Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools - Analytical problem-solving and debugging skills - Experience in leading a geographically dispersed team and managing a business-critical platform - Understanding of the finance industry and service provider culture UBS, as the world's largest global wealth manager, operates through four business divisions and has a presence in over 50 countries.
