IT Support Engineer / IT Specialist

Role Overview: As an IT Security Specialist at Mercari India, your primary responsibility will be managing, operating, and enhancing the company's IT security environment. You will play a crucial role in fostering a strong security culture, optimizing enterprise IT systems, and establishing a foundation for secure and resilient IT operations. Your contribution will be vital in driving business growth by ensuring secure, efficient, and cost-effective management of enterprise IT accounts and assets, as well as supporting the implementation of security-conscious practices across the organization. Success in this role hinges on your ability to swiftly grasp business challenges, propose IT-driven solutions, and leverage robust project management and communication skills to empower Mercari employees through a secure IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and execute day-to-day operations and administration of IT security solutions (such as IAM, MDM, EDR, and DLP) on Mercari India endpoints and network environments. - Review and provide guidance on endpoint and corporate network configurations to identify deviations from Mercari security standards. - Uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the endpoint and corporate network environments while enforcing the Acceptable Use Policy. - Collaborate with the Corporate Engineering Team to devise and implement a stable, secure, and optimized IT environment for Mercari India. - Conduct vulnerability assessments to pinpoint and mitigate risks. - Offer subject matter expertise in crafting security policies and guidelines for Mercari India. - Partner with the Mercari Japan IT and Security teams to propel foundational enhancements in IT security operations and implement best practices through engineering-led solutions. - Work alongside the Mercari Japan Security team to probe incidents in Mercari India and offer recommendations to prevent future occurrences. Qualification Required: Mandatory Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity or IT security-related fields. - Sound grasp of core computer security concepts (e.g., the CIA triad, principle of least privilege, authentication vs. authorization). - Hands-on experience in constructing, managing, and enhancing IT security tools and solutions (IAM, MDM, EDR, DLP, etc.). - Proficient problem-solving skills and the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently. Desired Qualifications: - Comprehensive understanding of Zero Trust architecture principles and their practical implementation. - Experience in configuring and overseeing public cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure). - Profound knowledge of IT infrastructure: TCP/IP, networking, servers, authentication, directory services, and endpoint management. - Experience or willingness to automate routine tasks using scripting or engineering approaches. - Familiarity with security and privacy compliance standards like PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, and GDPR. - Ability to articulately communicate security risks and mitigation strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Conversational Japanese proficiency is considered a plus.,
