IT Security Intern

This is a remote position. As an IT Security Intern, you will have the chance to work closely with our IT Security team to support daily operations, monitor security system performance, security tools, logs, and help with vulnerability management. You will gain practical experience in a variety of IT security functions, including threat analysis, incident response, security audits, endpoint security, and more. Key Responsibilities - Assist in monitoring security alerts, identifying potential threats, and escalating issues as needed across multiple tools used within the organization for threat monitoring and analysis. - Help the cybersecurity engineer conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in patch management processes for vulnerability management. - Participate in audits and assist the IT Security Lead in assessing compliance with security standards, frameworks, and policies for security audits. - Support the team in investigating and responding to security incidents and breaches for incident response. - Help the IT Security Lead raise awareness about best security practices across the organization for security awareness. - Stay updated about the latest trends, tools, and threats in the cybersecurity space for research. - Help maintain records of security events, incidents, and analysis findings for future reference and compliance requirements for documentation. Requirements We would be really happy if you have: - Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field for education. - Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.) - Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, anti-virus software, intrusion detection systems, XDR/MDR, and VPNs. - Understanding of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS) and their security features. - Familiarity with security protocols, encryption, and authentication methods for technical skills. - CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other relevant certifications are a plus for certifications (Optional but Preferred). - Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking. - Good communication skills, both written and verbal. - Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - A proactive and curious attitude, eager to learn and develop skills for other skills.,
