1. Participates in the formulation of the Information Technology Budget in determining projected revenues and expenses, operating equipment and FF&E (Fixtures, Furniture & Equipment) requirements in line with the compilation of the Annual Business Plan.
2. Prepares and participates in the Monthly Review.
3. Provides the Materials department with detailed Product and Purchase Specifications for items used in the work place.
4. Participates in the exercise on defining BSC (Balanced Score Card) initiatives and the monthly review process for his/her department.
5. Contributes in Developing and implementing Information Technology service standards regarding the quality of product & Service.
6. Develops, interprets and implements the hotel policies, operating procedures and training programs, manuals, directives, work schedules, rules and regulations for the IT staff and personnel and also in planning and organizing successful IT activities.
7. Develops and monitors strategies, procedures and policies for enhancing revenue and controlling expenses.
8. Designs, reviews and updates the SOPs on an as per need basis.
9. Plans for future staffing needs.
1. Makes key decisions regarding day-to-day operational issues; removes obstacles to success and ensures adequate resources are available to achieve business results for the IT department.
1. Periodic travel to all the hotel units for review and guidance. Agenda to be shared before travel to the respective hotel unit. Travel plan to shared well in advance for approval and meeting points to be circulated.
2. Reviews financial reports for the department and works on it for enhancing revenue & managing costs.
3. Identifies opportunities to increase profits and create value by encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.
4. Ensures contracts negotiated with retailers, service vendors and other contractors are beneficial for the department.
5. Serves as the one-point-contact for all activities and communication related to the department.
6. Maintains strict vigilance over the established hotel policies and procedures and takes immediate corrective measures whenever deviations are noticed.
7. Reviews Customer Feedback System (CFS) feedbacks and Mystery Audit findings and makes and reviews progress on the action-plans to improve the same.
8. Reviews findings from various audits like Safety Audit, Internal Audit, Hygiene audit and initiates corrective/preventive actions based on the same.
9. Reviews the Daily Log Book.
10. Assists all users in computers, common softwares and educates them about potential security risks.
11. Ensure all the local laws, rules and regulations are strictly adhered to.
12. Manages and monitors the operation of all computer hardware, ensures all systems are working and installed properly, and serves as the primary contact for servicing the computer hardware.
13. Ensures that all systems are covered by the proper maintenance contracts and that preventive maintenance is performed as required.
14. Maintains an up-to-date list of all computer hardware.
15. Manages the configuration reports, job control languages, program files and data files on the computer system(s) to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
16. Monitors the performance of the software and maintains a log book of performance report eg; through systems measurement facility/utility, error and integrity check reports, system malfunction and solutions.
17. Tests and ensures installation of corporate approved program changes to the hotel computer system(s).
18. Establishes documents, test and communicates appropriate emergency procedures to follow when the hotel computer system(s) are inoperable.
19. Ensures that all computer media saves and back-ups are completed, documented and stored per specifications.
20. Controls all user IDs, password, and the most sensitive system utilities, secured all touchy resources and critical libraries/databases/files.
21. Maintains technical and user documentation, systems reports, newsletter and announcement in a neat, orderly and secure fashion.
22. Develops and control the MIS departmental budget.
23. Keeps informed of the latest, updated, changes, enhancement, and development in the hotel computer field by joining periodicals seminars, workshop or conferences computer companies or vendors
24. Performs basic changes to programs control languages using screen edit utilities, operating control languages statements and screen design aids.
25. Notifies department heads on current computer related issues, new releases, MIS trends, viruses etc.
