Located between Haridwar and Rishikesh, the village faces waste challenges due to both residential and tourist activity. The project's core mission is to implement a zero-waste model by encouraging waste segregation, recycling, composting, and environmentally responsible disposal methods. The initiative strives to mitigate environmental degradation and promote healthier living conditions for the community.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site internship role located in Pakur. As an intern, the candidate will actively participate in initiatives to promote waste management practices. Daily tasks will include conducting surveys, educating residents on effective waste segregation, assisting in recycling and composting activities, and collaborating with the team to design campaigns for environmental awareness. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental sustainability, waste management practices, and recycling processes
• Strong communication, public speaking, and community engagement skills
• Ability to plan and execute awareness programs or campaigns
• Proficiency in data collection, organization, and analysis
• Willingness to work in outdoor and community-centric settings
• A passion for environmental or social impact work
• Prior experience in non-profit, environmental, or community development projects is a plus
• Enrollment or degree in Environmental Studies, Social Work, or related fields is preferred
