This role offers a unique opportunity to understand the intricacies of the generation and distribution operations in the power system and contribute to a higher integration of renewable energy sources into the energy mix. It also provides an opportunity to deep-dive into initiatives for the seamless integration of electric vehicles and rooftop solar technologies into distribution networks. Responsibilities Conduct literature reviews, and collect, analyse, and tabulate data based on project requirements. Report findings through write-ups/PowerPoint slides/ Excel sheets. Contribute to research publications by writing research papers, op-eds, etc. Ideate and innovate in terms of expanding knowledge and work base of the energy and power domain. Key Learning Areas Gain a deep understanding of power sector planning and operations (particularly with regard to the distribution network), focussing on integrating EV-charging infrastructure and rooftop solar technologies to support the evolving energy landscape. Familiarise yourself with industry-standard power simulation software and hone your skill in modelling and analysing power system configurations. Develop foundational knowledge of planning decisions related to the distribution segment and improve your ability to assess the cost-effectiveness of various strategies. Qualifications BE in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering OR MS/ME/MTech in Electrical Engineering/Energy & Power Systems. Skill Set Good understanding on the Indian power sector landscape is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights. Basic knowledge of using power simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, etc. for distribution system planning. Good communication and collaboration abilities for effective interaction with cross- functional teams and internal stakeholders. Sound understanding of the economic principles governing power system planning and operations. Proficiency in Excel and Python programming would be an added advantage.
