Instrumentation Designer (SP3D / E3D)

Job Description

Role & responsibilities We are seeking an experienced S3D Modeler specializing in Instrumentation to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate Smart 3D (S3D) models related to instrumentation systems for industrial and plant design projects, ensuring compliance with industry and client standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain 3D models of instrumentation systems using Intergraph Smart 3D (S3D) software. Model field instrumentation, junction boxes, cable trays, tubing, and instrument supports in S3D. Coordinate and integrate with piping, electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines within the 3D environment. Generate and extract instrument location plans, cable tray layouts, loop routing, and isometrics from the model. Ensure that all modeling work aligns with project requirements, specifications, and client standards. Update and revise models as per engineering markups and design changes. Interface with the Instrumentation Design Engineer for technical inputs and clarifications. Support clash detection and resolution processes using S3D and other design tools. Maintain quality and accuracy of the model database, including component tagging and metadata. Assist in preparing material take-offs (MTOs) and BOQs from the S3D model. Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related technical field. 47 years of experience in instrumentation design/modeling, with strong proficiency in Intergraph Smart 3D (S3D) . Hands-on experience in large-scale oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial plant projects. Understanding of instrumentation standards such as ISA, IEC, and project-specific requirements. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and vendor drawings. Experience working in a multi-discipline 3D environment. Preferred candidate profile
