CRGO (Cold Rolled Grain Oriented) steel
manufacturing facility.
Job Summary
We require an experienced Instrumentation Engineer responsible for the maintenance, expert calibration, and advanced troubleshooting of all field instruments and complex control systems. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and throughput of precision equipment such as
annealing furnaces, slitting lines, and cut-to-length machines
, ensuring they operate within the tightest defined process parameters.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance and Troubleshooting
- Instrument Management: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot a wide range of essential field instruments, including Temperature Sensors (RTDs, thermocouples), Pressure Transmitters, Flow Meters, Level Sensors, and Proximity/Position Sensors.
- Control Systems: Monitor and maintain sophisticated control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI interfaces, specifically those integrated with CRGO process equipment.
- Reliability: Work in close coordination with electrical and mechanical maintenance teams to minimize downtime, quickly resolve failures, and support overall production reliability.
Calibration and Compliance
- Precision Calibration: Plan, manage, and perform routine calibration schedules as per ISO/quality compliance requirements, ensuring maximum accuracy of all sensors and transmitters.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain meticulous documentation, including instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and up-to-date calibration records.
- Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all safety standards and protocols during instrumentation work, particularly in high-temperature, high-voltage, and hazardous areas.
Optimization and Spares
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze process data and instrument performance to identify and implement areas for improvement in instrumentation accuracy and system reliability.
- Automation Support: Support automation and control improvement initiatives, working collaboratively with OEMs and external system integrators.
- Inventory Control: Manage and maintain a ready inventory of critical instrumentation spares to ensure minimal disruption to production.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Core Knowledge: Strong fundamental understanding of industrial instrumentation, process control theory, and control loop tuning.
- Control Systems Expertise (Hands-On Experience Required):
- PLCs: Experience with major platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider).
- Interfaces: Hands-on knowledge of SCADA systems and HMI interfaces.
- Communications: Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- CRGO Equipment Familiarity: Specific experience with instrumentation systems utilized in Bell-type annealing furnaces, Slitting and Decoiling lines, and Cut-to-Length/Stacking machines is a significant advantage.
