Installation Engineer

To execute the installation of wooden doors, frames, and accessories at client sites according to approved shop drawings, quality standards, and company SOP. Ensure proper coordination with the site team, clients, and production team to deliver installations safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Installation Preparation

• Review approved shop drawings, BOQ, and site measurement reports before mobilization.
• Verify site readiness:
• POP leveling, jamb finishing, tile skirting (except snag closure) completed.
• Structural openings and wall jambs are as per approved measurements.
• Flooring and dust work are completed.
• Adequate, secure storage space is available.
• Arrange necessary tools, hardware, and materials before reaching the site.

2. Door & Frame Installation

• Fix door frames after the first coat of paint, following company SOP.
• Align and plumb frames accurately, ensuring correct clearances for hinges and locks.
• Install door shutters, hardware, and accessories as per specifications. • Perform adjustments for smooth operation and proper closing.

3. Quality & Safety Compliance

• Follow installation quality standards, tolerances, and finish requirements.
• Conduct visual checks for scratches, chips, or damage during handling and fixing.
• Use appropriate PPE and adhere to site safety protocols.

• Ensure finished work is protected from damage during ongoing site activities.

4. Coordination & Documentation

• Communicate daily progress, issues, or site challenges to the supervisor/project manager.
• Obtain client or site engineer sign-off for completed installations.
• Maintain installation logs, snag lists, and material usage records.
• Collaborate with polishing teams for final touch-ups and DLP (Defects Liability Period) works.

5. Client Interaction

• Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients or consultants.
• Address minor on-site queries while escalating major deviations to the supervisor.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Skills:

  Knowledge of wooden doors, frames, hardware, and finishing.

• Reading Drawings:

• Tools Handling:

  Skilled with carpentry tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.

• Problem Solving:

  Ability to troubleshoot alignment, hardware fitting, or site mismatch issues.

• Teamwork & Communication:

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:

  ITI/Diploma in Carpentry, Civil, or related field (preferred)

• Experience:

  2-5 years in wooden door or similar carpentry installations.

• Other Requirements:

  Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours if needed.

• Installation completed per schedule and quality standards.
• Zero major rework or damage claims.
• Accurate documentation and timely reporting.
• Positive client feedback and smooth snag closure.
