Infrastructure Tier 2 Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for providing primary monitoring and incident response for Azure infrastructure using tools such as Azure Monitor, Splunk, DynaTrace, and custom dashboards. You will be required to respond to alerts, triage escalations, and perform initial diagnosis and remediation. Additionally, you will be involved in capacity and availability management, backup and restore operations, access and permissions management, logging and metrics oversight, as well as basic performance testing. Key Responsibilities: - Provide 24/7 monitoring of Azure infrastructure and respond to alerts using tools like Azure Monitor, Splunk, DynaTrace, and custom dashboards. - Triage P1/P2 escalations via ServiceNow war rooms, perform initial diagnosis, and remediate where possible. - Identify scaling opportunities, zone-redundancy patterns, and performance bottlenecks for virtual machines or services. - Execute frequent backups using Azure Backup, NetApp Snapshots, and perform basic restore tasks. - Maintain Azure/NetApp file shares, set up access controls and AD group permissions, and perform periodic identity and access reviews. - Oversee monitoring agents, collaborate with L3 for alert thresholds, and fine-tune logging when chronic issues arise. - Execute routine performance checks, document and escalate performance anomalies when necessary. Qualifications Required: - Comfortable reading and troubleshooting logs/metrics (Splunk, DynaTrace, Azure Monitor). - Familiar with Azure Backup services, basic restore procedures, and file share permissions. - Proficient in ticketing systems like ServiceNow and collaborating with technical teams for escalations. - Knowledgeable in following runbooks and standard operating procedures. - Experience in documenting standard operating procedures and IaC changes in a central repository. - Familiarity with Epic implementations (on-prem/cloud) is a plus.
