Skills Required: Basic understanding of all infrastructure domains, industry standards and best practices methodology Highly motivated, ability to lead and influence Experience in infrastructure related role, Proven success in projects in large scale projects Ability to effectively communicate, coordinate and collaborate, successful track record of effective vendor management Knowledge of emerging technologies and vendor landscape Ability to balance cost against benefits Understanding of business drivers and all stakeholders requirements Understanding of documentation and frameworks Proven leadership responsibilities for a matrixed team on medium to large sized projects Ability to handle Clients Senior Management, demonstrate influence over governance bodies, and communicate effectively via formal communications /presentations Build strong relationships with business and technology leaders Understands business area opportunities and challenges, process or system impacts to all related business or systems areas when implementing recommended solutions to obtain business objectives Initiates and ensures project management and methodologies are followed and change management procedures and supporting tools are used in executing all projects as appropriate Manages and tracks the deliverables with stakeholders, internal teams, vendor teams and Technical Architects Very strong understanding of current infrastructure concepts with the proven ability to implement Servers, VMware, SANs, networks, data centers and monitoring in a fast paced, high availability, ITIL environment Ability to get the respect of the senior technical teams to lead projects, coordinate teams and handle issues and problems effectively in a timely manner Very strong understanding of current security protection, monitoring and remediation techniques with the proven ability to implement solutions for the network, servers, databases and the desktop Understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity and high availability concepts from planning to testing Ability to quickly learn and use new complex technical concepts and resolve issues with them in a rapidly changing environment Ability to discuss complex technical concepts to the technical staff, stakeholders and business executives in a simple straightforward manner Communicates technical issues, impact, and risk mitigation strategies in business terminology that can be communicated to and understood by non-technical Provides ongoing status updates on project progress, risks, change management and issue resolution Leads issue identification, tracking, escalation and resolution documentation Monitors risk events before becoming issues and potential roadblocks Creates and maintains project plan (charters and schedules), and reviews them with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders, OEMs teams, business partners and steering committees This includes tracking plans against agreed upon resource levels, timelines and budgets Responsible for managing vendors and OEMs, Validation of work against agreed SOWs, and SLAs Maintains ongoing management of vendor throughout the life of the project . Experience: 8- 15 years of overall experience in the field of IT Infrastructure is essential Must have at least 3 years experience as Project Manager - Infrastructure (Implementation projects Enterprise Servers & Storage (Cloud computing / Virtualization / Consolidation / Data center / Business Continuity / Backup / Enterprise Servers, Storage and Tape Technologies, Clustering / High availability etc) Enterprise Networking and security (Routing and Switching protocols, network architecture, connectivity options, network management, remote access, data security, standards and compliance, identity management, log management etc ) oDatacenter (Tier 3 / 3+ DC build including power & cooling) access control and building management system etc) Certifications: PMP or ITIL certification will be an advantage. Any of the other industry standard IT Infrastructure related certifications like RHCE/ MCSE / MCTS/ CCNA / CCIE / VCP /CISSP would be an added advantage.
