Job Description

As an Information Developer at our company, your role involves planning, organizing, and writing online help, user manuals, installation instructions, and release-related documentation for business software. You will work closely with development teams and ensure that the documentation is correct, written to standards, and delivered within project timelines. Your external communication scope will be limited, and you will operate under general supervision, typically reporting to a Manager of Information Development. **Key Responsibilities:** - Demonstrate technical writing expertise by creating help text, user manuals, installation instructions, and release notes. - Research, gather, and interpret software business information to organize and write content for documentation projects. - Provide key content to help users understand functionality and perform processes effectively. - Create, test, and troubleshoot online help for assigned software applications. - Deliver quality documents with minimal errors, ensuring clarity, organization, and adherence to standards. - Collaborate on projects, present ideas constructively, and work with various teams to ensure appropriate UI content and design. - Plan and schedule projects, balance multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines. - Initiate and implement new tools and improvements to technical processes. - Assist other writers with writing, tools, technical, and standards issues. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in technical writing, business, or computer science, or equivalent technical training and work experience. - 3 to 6 years of relevant experience. - Excellent English language usage and writing skills. - Advanced problem-solving and analytic skills. - Familiarity with markup languages and experience with authoring tools such as XMetaL Author, Arbortext Epic, Adobe Technical Communications Suite, Madcap Flare, or Dreamweaver. - Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in PC skills, operating systems, file management tools, graphic design tools, and MS Office applications.
