Safety officer - Manufacturing Industry

Location:

• Regularly visit the shop floor and interact with unit Managers to improve safety/work environment.
• Promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout the organization.
• Ensure that all hazards and risks associated with organization activities and contractor work activities have been identified, assessed, and actions implemented to eliminate or reduce the same.
• Identifying, monitoring, and assessing hazards, unsafe acts, and conditions at work.
• Review of SOPs / OCPs and Internal procedures related to safety practices for adequacy.
• Ensuring the effective implementation of the work permit system.
• All Documentation work of the Safety Department.
• Conducting Health & Safety committee Meetings and internal Review meetings, Prepare and circulate minutes of the meeting.
• Co-ordination with the company management with the Safety rules and regulations as per statutory requirements (Factories Act 1948, AP/TS Factories Rules 1950) & ISO 45001:2018.
• Conduct “5S trainings” and “5S campaigns” in the work area.
• EHS performance to be monitoring with the Lead and Lag indicators monthly basis.
• Organize employee’s involving and motivation programs like National Safety Day / Week Celebrations.
• Participate actively in Incident/Accidents Investigation, analysis, reporting the Root causes by using different tools like “Fish Bone and Five Why” tool etc., and suggesting Corrective actions.
• Ensure the contractor activities comply with organization & and contractor HSE policies & plans, conform to the terms & and conditions of the contract, and meet local statutory HSE regulations.
• Prepare and circulate Occupational Health & Safety statistics (MIS) to management and employees.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Tech) or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a safety officer role within the manufacturing industry
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and associated safety hazards.
