Purpose
- Mechanical maintenance Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of our biogas production plants.
- Will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of various Mechanical and control systems within the plant.
- His/her expertise will contribute to the optimization of biogas production processes, enhancing plant efficiency and sustainability.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of Mechanical systems during your shift, including overseeing maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Direct Reports: Jr.- Sr. Engineers will directly report to the position.
Dimensions Of Position / KPI:
- Mechanical installation: Install, configure, and calibrate a wide range of Mechanical devices
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for Mechanical and control systems to minimize downtime and equipment failures.
- Calibration and Validation: Regularly calibrate and validate Mechanical equipment to maintain accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Mechanical and control systems to minimize production interruptions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data collected from Mechanical systems to identify trends and areas for improvement in plant performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of Mechanical maintenance activities, calibration logs, and equipment manuals.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all Mechanical systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Training: Provide training plant operators and technicians on the proper use and maintenance of Mechanical equipment.

- To take regular, periodic plant rounds in all Control rooms and Plants under him to check/ensure healthy operating conditions, notice abnormalities and critical problems.

- Interact with various departments. Like Process/Mech/Elect/ Stores/Purchase/ Safety to execute instrument maintenance jobs effectively with respect to quality, safety, cost and time of completion
Trouble free functioning in field
- Ensure all faulty instruments are serviced/repaired and calibrated in Workshop with quality
General and Task Management:
- Effectively and efficiently ensuring the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are always maintained
- Responsible for plant production, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities
- Determines & monitors the weekly production target for the respective processes shed
- To keep the senior posted about timely availability of the raw material and allied issues of production
- Come out with innovative ideas that will facilitate improving performance & results of the operation
- Trouble shooting & debottlenecking.
Safety & Environment:
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
- Review environmental strategies that impact on future ways of operating and ensure implementation where possible
- Review the use of technological systems that support a more environmentally friendly approach

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience 5-10 Years
Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of Mechanical systems in a similar industrial environment, preferably in the renewable energy or biogas sector.
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical devices, their installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in an industrial setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, often in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work on-call and respond to plant emergencies as needed.
- Professional certification in Mechanical or control systems.
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software.
- Develop mechanical specifications for various plant equipment including Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and compressors and allied equipment.
- Develop and select pipe specifications for various applications.
- Development of procurement documentation such as request for quotation summary, specifications, datasheets and supplier deliverable requirement lists (SDRLs). Vendor liaison and Technical Bid Evaluation
- Liaising with the client to establish and clarify their requirements and ensure that these are fulfilled.
- Maintaining quality of project deliverables, while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Adding innovative thinking at design review stages along with the production of documentation to aid design, tender and procurement for mechanical equipment.
- Site based surveys, as-built exercises, and constructability reviews. Support for FAT's and SAT's to support our clients
- Commitment to and promotion of OSL's values and ensuring the realization of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies and procedures.
- A good understanding of the industry standards and norms, including a working knowledge of API, ASME, ISO and EN standards.
- Knowledge of the design and specification/purchase both static and rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels and heat exchangers and so forth.
- Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
- Experienced in providing site support for fabrication or installation.
- Experience in the fabrication and installation of mechanical equipment and / or piping.
- Experienced in use of design and assessment methods used within discipline.
- Experienced in 3D design and modelling methods used within discipline.
