  • Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.

    YOUR IMPACT

You will spend about 80% of your time working at a client location as part of your consulting team, helping to solve complex client problems in manufacturing and supply chain domains.

This work includes, but is not limited to: shop floor transformations, yield and throughput enhancements, unlocking workforce productivity, unlocking capacity in manufacturing plants, reducing cost and defects from poor quality production, ensuring reliable, flexible and safe production, as well as maximizing asset returns in production, developing optimal network configuration models for global supply chains of clients, simulating inventory levels with the objective of creating a sound inventory policy etc.

About 20% of your time will be spent on developing cutting-edge knowledge related to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSA) domain and on delivering specialized remote services to clients. You will also support the development and maintenance of various practice knowledge initiatives by way of building McKinsey's knowledge on MSC related topics.

You will build your expertise in MSC across industries including, but not limited to, automotive, consumer electronics, electric vehicles & batteries or oil & gas, and so on. You will be mentored by our implementation experts who bring decades of industry experience and a track record driving change in complex organizations. You will also be supported with a world-class implementation toolkit, Impact Essentials (ten elements we have found to be essential to sustaining impact in transformation work) and the best of McKinsey’s tools and assets for implementation.

You will be based in one of our India offices - Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Kolkata or Mumbai - as a part of McKinsey Implementation in the Operations practice. McKinsey Implementation is a rapidly growing capability for our firm. It provides continuous, distinctive support to our clients to ensure they achieve and sustain the full benefits of McKinsey’s recommended changes. Our implementation consultants are involved from strategy to execution with a disciplined eye on impact and sustainability at every stage of a project life cycle.

Our Operations practice sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and transformation to deliver sustainable and inclusive growth. It assists our clients in solving complex operational challenges.

Our Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) service line (which comes under our Operations practice) is committed to helping clients through the design and implementation of operational strategies that will stand the test of time, while creating agility and a product portfolio that is commercially and operationally optimized.

    YOUR GROWTH

Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.

In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.

When you join us, you will have:

    • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
